Bright colours run through this shoe.

Then come the holes. Hundreds of them.

They represent the final three months of my mother's life as cancer ravaged her lungs.

The holes are her breathing - the gasps, the struggle and the fight for air.

But the colours are her life, her love and the memories she left behind.

Life can hold pain and beauty at the same time.
