The Seventies

THE SEVENTIES

Clay: White Clay Body

I don't remember much about my early childhood.

But I do remember ABBA, CHiPs, flares and the afro.

I also remember Starsky & Hutch especially because Mum knitted me a cardigan like the one they wore.

But the memory that really stayed with me was Dad's platform shoes.

Brown leather. Brass bolts running around the rim and brown wooden platform sole.

To me, they were hideous. My dad would say, “Your mother buy me dem!” (Jamaican accent)

I can still see them.

Yuck.
